Rhinoplasty - Before & After

Rhinoplasty can enhance the facial harmony by matching the nose size to suit the face shape. If you are unhappy with your nose shape, the plastic surgeon performs a facial analysis. It requires finesse and deep understanding of the anatomy of the various parts of the nose. It also is used to correct the impaired breathing due to structural defects in the nose. The Rhinoplasty can change:

  • The size of the nose to match the facial balance.
  • The tip of the nose that may be bulbous, drooping or hooked.
  • Nostrils that may be large, wide or upturned.
  • Asymmetry of nose
  • Size and the position of nostrils and nose width at bridge.

Rhinoplasty can also be used to correct a deviated septum and achieved by adjusting the nasal structure to produce better alignment. The procedure is simple, and you can return to work within a week after surgery.

2) Mentoplasty/ Chin surgery

Chin surgery involves reshaping the chin by enhancement by using a silicon implant and reduction surgery on the bone. Sometimes the surgeons recommend chin surgery when the patient undergoes rhinoplasty so that overall facial proportion is maintained as the size of chin impacts the perceived size of the nose.

If the lower jaw has limited projection, it is regarded weaker and less masculine. The surgeon enhances the chin by implant or repositioning the bone along the jaw line with liposuction to create a jaw line that is sculpted.

3) Hair Transplant & Removal

Hair Transplant

The Hair transplantation procedure requires removal of grafts with small pieces of hair-bearing scalp from the donor site and relocating them to the bald area. The zapping procedure involves laser removal of unwanted hair from the body. Baldness is caused due to 3 main factors:

  • Aging
  • Hormonal changes
  • Genetic/ Family history

These two manscaping procedures are beneficial for people who experience premature baldness and have excessive hair on chest, arms, legs or back. The surgery involves local anesthesia in case of transplant and very fast in case of laser hair removal as it is only skin deep.

4) Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia

This is a condition in which males have over-developed or enlarged breasts that look feminine. There are various factors that can result in Gynecomastia, namely hormonal changes, heredity, obesity and certain drugs. The Gynecomastia may be characterized by excess localized fat, development of excess glandular tissue, Presence of one or both breasts. The cosmetic surgeons can correct the condition by minor liposuction and skin tucking in the area till it looks masculine.

5) Rhytidectomy /Facelift

The facelift is a surgical procedure to improve the visible signs of aging in face and neck. It treats the sagging in the middle of the face, creases below the lower eyelids, deep creases along the nose, excess fatty deposits and loose skin under the chin and jaw. The youthful contours can be lost due to several factors such as heredity, gravity, stress and environmental conditions.

This procedure is conjugated along with the brow lift. The sagging flesh from the cheekbones, jaws and neck are pulled taut at certain positions such as the back of skull or neck and below the hairline. This procedure is complemented by botox injections to maximize the results. The restorative facelift surgery does not change the appearance and also cannot stop the aging process.

6) Brow Lift/ Forehead Lift

The major sign of aging in men is sagging brow along with wrinkled forehead. The reason for this is less skin elasticity due to less collagen. By the brow lift procedure the surgeons can pull the flesh around the area tautly and result in:

  • Reduced horizontal wrinkle lines on the forehead and the bridge of the nose between the eyes.
  • Raised sagging eyebrows.
  • Eyebrows are placed in alert and youthful position.

Botox injection augments the brow lift as it freezes the minute portions of the muscles in place and tightens and immobilizes the sagging flesh. The other cosmetic surgeries performed along with brow lift include the upper and lower eyelid tucks, Face lifting and skin resurfacing.

7) Liposuction

This helps in slimming and reshaping a specific area of the body and removes the excess fats and shows off the abs and muscles. Liposuction is a contouring tool and not a technique for weight loss. In men, the target areas of liposuction include the belly and arms. It can be used to shape the body when after taking an exercise and diet the shape of your body is not perfect.

Surgeons make an incision in the target area where they insert a small tube. Then they liquefy the fat cells using a laser or other heat source and remove the liquefied fatty matter via suction using the same tube. The sleeker frame is provided by shaping the abdominal area.

Cosmetic procedures that enhance the features of the face maybe needed by some but those who can get through the day without them should not consider them. They are expensive and a little unpredictable.

  2. I agree with you John. If you are okay with you looks and don’t actually need the surgery, avoid it. But if you really, want it to make yourself feel better, I say go for it!

  3. If you have the money I think you should do it. There’s nothing wrong with improving the way you look and feed.
